General Manager Appointed to The National Trade Centre & Ricoh Coliseum


Toronto, ON - September 26, 2003 - Mr. Ron Taylor, Managing Director of O&Y/SMG Canada, today announced the appointment of Ms. Arlene Campbell as General Manager of The National Trade Centre and Ricoh Coliseum at Exhibition Place, Toronto, Canada. Exhibition Place is a 200-acre multi-use property owned by the City of Toronto, and governed by the Board of Governors of Exhibition Place. O&Y/SMG Canada is the private-sector Manager of both The National Trade Centre and Ricoh Coliseum.

Ms. Campbell brings over twenty years of business experience, most recently as the Acting General Manager and prior to that as Assistant General Manager and Director of Finance for O&Y/SMG Canada at The National Trade Centre. Arlene has extensive experience in managing all aspects of The National Trade Centre and is committed to enhancing the reputation of Toronto and The National Trade Centre as the premier trade and consumer show facility in North America. Ms. Campbell has been extensively involved in the public private partnership initiative to renovate the Ricoh Coliseum arena.

Mr. Mario Silva, Chairman of the Board of Governors of Exhibition Place stated, "The Board of Governors fully support Ms. Campbell's appointment as General Manager. Ms. Campbell has a proven track record of success at The National Trade Centre, and we are confident her leadership qualities will empower her team to achieve future success in both facilities."

Arlene is an active member of the Canadian Association of Exposition Management and most recently taught the Facility Operations course at George Brown College.

Prior to joining O&Y/SMG Canada, Arlene was with O&Y Properties, with responsibilities including One First Canadian Place, the largest office/retail complex in Canada. Arlene has held positions with Guaranty Trust, Chubb Insurance Company of Canada, and Ernst & Young. Arlene is a chartered accountant, with a Masters degree in Business Administration from the University of Toronto.

The National Trade Centre is Canada's newest and largest exhibition and meeting facility, with over 1 million square feet of space. The National Trade Centre at Exhibition Place is owned by the City of Toronto and professionally managed and operated by O&Y/SMG Canada. The profitable year-round tradeshow facility annually hosts over 180 tradeshows, consumer shows and events.
