Dmg world
media, global leader of over 300 of the biggest consumer shows worldwide,
announced a substantial increase in consumer attendance and exhibitor
satisfaction at their recent National Home Show presented by StarChoice
on April 5-14, 2002, held at The National Trade Centre, Toronto.
The Home Interest division of dmg world media produces over 90 shows
worldwide including the United States, the United Kingdom, New Zealand
and Australia with the largest show in North America being staged
right here in Toronto at The National Trade Centre.
A replica in size and caliber to dmg world media’s flagship
show, The Daily Mail Ideal Home Show in Earls Court at Olympia in
London, U.K., The National Home Show presented by StarChoice showcased
over 600 exhibitors spanning the very best experts in the home improvement,
remodeling, landscaping and decorating industries. In its 51st year
of success, The National Home Show drew a 6% increase from the previous
year. In addition, a recent survey based on the 2000 show reported
that visitors purchased $42 million worth of exhibitor products
on show site, in addition to $206 million within six months after
the show. Duncan Payne, Regional Manager, dmg world media said:
“The majority of our shows across North America have had an
increase in attendance and Toronto is no exception. We are committed
to making the visitor experience to a show memorable, exciting and
worthwhile, and it is clear that we are succeeding in this mission.”
“Toronto’s National Trade Centre is the ideal location
to stage North America’s premier homes show,” stated Ernest
Vincent, General Manager of The National Trade Centre. “We are
immensely privileged that dmg world media, a significant global player
in the event business, ranks as one of our most important partners.”
The Home Show took place coincidentally with the fifth anniversary
of The National Trade Centre. During this last five-year period, the
number of events held has increased by over 240% and annual visitors
to the exhibition grounds this year will likely top five million.
