The National
Trade Centre is the most advanced, unique and exciting addition
to trade and exhibition facilities in North America. With over one
million square feet of connected exhibit space, this high-tech trade
centre can be transformed to various configurations for maximum
efficiency. It combines approximately 350,000 square feet of upgraded
historic facility along with more than 700,000 square feet of newly
constructed exhibition space that can be sub-divided into five separate
halls.
As the third largest trade facility in North America, “The
National Trade Centre positions Metro Toronto as a focal point for
trade activities in North America,” says Metro Councillor
Joe Pantalone, Chair of the Board of Governors of Exhibition Place.
With trade show delegates spending on an average of $1,260.00, Centre
officials claim The National Trade Centre will kickstart the regional
economy by attracting consumer and trade shows, spinning off millions
of dollars worth of revenue into the city’s trade economy.
In addition to its size, The National Trade Centre’s innovative
features have broad appeal for show producers, exhibitors and clients.
The facility provides phenomenal access to electrical, audio-visual
and telecommunications via its “floorport service conduit”
outlets throughout the space. In addition, the Centre’s 31
state-of-the-art loading truck bays enable vehicles as large as
transport trucks the ease of direct access to exhibit hall floors.
Bob Macgregor, President of Reed Exhibition Companies, one of the
world’s largest trade show producers says, “the sheer
size of The National Trade Centre and its capability through its
integrated service and utility systems makes it a great building
to produce shows.” The National Trade Centre during 1999 will
be host to Reed Exhibition Companies’ largest machine tool
show in North America,The Canadian Machine Tool Show.
The new Centre also boasts a new underground parking facility for
1,300 vehicles (in addition to the 6,900 above-gound parking spaces)
as well as special provisions for the physically challenged.
The National Trade Centre is served by all major highways, 32,000
guest rooms, Toronto’s Pearson International Airport (just
15 minutes away) and direct access to the grounds by Toronto’s
major public transportation system.
A welcome addition to the economic infrastructure of Toronto, The
National Trade Centre represents a symbol of confidence in the future
of this city.
